Select an image that has a clear background, middle ground and foreground. The 3-D photo should have at least 3 layers, but can have more.
Make a test strip to determine exposure time.
Make the print, check exposure in classroom light. If time looks good for all areas, make 2 more prints or however many is needed. If print is too light or dark in a particular section, adjust timer accordingly, there is no need to dodge & burn.
After all prints are made, cut white border off of background photo and mount onto black/white mat board with 1” border.
Use the mounting press to attach the remaining photos to darkroom cardboard (the one used for making test strips).
Start by cutting middle picture first, just cut away (with a scissors) the part of the photo you want to show through (i.e. – the sky) IMPORTANT...If you’re not sure what to cut, ask the teacher before you cut anything!!
When everything has been cut, glue (Elmers) photos on top of one another with ½” x ½” pieces of foam core board in between photos (like a sandwich).
