College Photography
College Photography offers students many paths of artistic discovery and experimentation. Photographers can continue to work with film or "go digital" in the Mac lab; darkroom or Lightroom, the choice is theirs. They will also have the option of taking the course for college credit through LIU Post High School Scholars Program:
Students will explore many types of photography and subjects delving deeper into the conceptual and narrative aspects of the medium. They will learn to think critically and refine their imagery through thoughtful compositions and the magic of digital manipulation. This will prepare them for submission of an AP 2D Design Portfolio in Advanced Photography (12th grade) if they choose. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the NYSATA Portfolio Project, a program designed to give school age artists valuable feedback and appraisal of their artwork.
