Choose a stationary subject (one that doesn’t move around). Something outdoors will probably work well. Explore viewpoint options for this subject, look for vantage points that will put the subject and its surroundings into a successful composition / visual arrangement. Consider thematic elements as well: are there viewpoints that include secondary elements that will bolster the theme of the main subject? Should viewpoints be avoided because they detract from the main theme I am trying to convey? Avoid “tunnel vision” – the tendency to notice only the main subject in your viewfinder. |
